Association of African American Museum

The Association of African American Museums (AAAM) is a non-profit member organization established to support African and African American focus museums nationally and internationally, as well as the professionals who protect, preserve and interpret African and African American art, history and culture.

National Civil Rights Museum

National Museum of Education

The National Museum of Education seeks to celebrate the learning, insight, creativity, and workmanship of America's students, teachers, administrators, and all those who have made a positive contribution to the educational process by recognizing and preserving their accomplishments for the inspiration of future generations. 

USC Museum of Education

Once housing an extensive archival collection of educational materials, the Museum of Education now serves exclusively as a museum with its exhibitions, publications, and programs portraying the perennial issues of education as a means to generate thoughtful discussion among members of the university community and general public.

Blackwell History of Education Museum and Research Collection

The goals of the Blackwell Museum are fourfold to collect and preserve educational artifacts and related material, to exhibit these materials to the public in an interesting and informative fashion, to make the collections available to faculty and students for scholarly study and research, and to collaborate with local schools and community groups in the study of educational history.

UNE Museum of Education

The Museum of Education consists of two original 1880's school buildings (Pallamallawa and Dumaresq) and a post WWII portable building from the Armidale High School. Armidale's Museum of Education is considered to be the most comprehensive collection of educational material held in any university or public collection, and has been designated of national significance.

History of Education Society

The History of Education Society is an international scholarly society. Its purposes are to promote the teaching of the history of education in colleges and universities, to encourage scholarly research in the history of education, and to facilitate the publication and dissemination of the results of that research Interest the educational profession and the public at large in the value of historical perspective in the making of educational policy

Established by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1895 as a public trust to be funded by the community.

American Red Cross National Headquarters

Located in Washington DC. The building was designated a national landmark in 1965.

Established in 1979 to preserve the history of the YMCA.

Social Work and the Helping Profession:

California nursing museum

The California Nursing museum's exhibits do provide visitors with a dose of what it was like attending the first nursing class in 1898. The museum includes examples of equipment such as old exam tables and wheelchairs. And then there are examples of old nursing uniforms, including a diagram with instruction on how nurses should fold, starch and take care of their traditional white hats—the signature accent of their uniforms. There are also displays showing the different uniforms through the years.

Army Medical Services Museum

The museum tells the tale of army medicine and healthcare, human and animal, from the English Civil War to the current day as AMS personnel continue to serve across the globe as part of the British Army.

The Nursing and Medical Museum

The Nursing and Medical Museum showcases the hospital through the eras of change. There are displays of surgical instruments, many still in use today. There is a large collection of photographs and a comprehension range of uniforms, nurses, doctors, domestic, catering etc. The library has many books used by nurses and doctors, some dating back to the early 1900's.

Florence Nightingale Museum

Since its foundation in 1989, the Florence Nightingale Museum (FNM) has established itself as a successful and viable independent public museum that promotes an understanding and appreciation of Florence Nightingale's legacy and its continuing influence on nursing and people's health.

Museum of Health Care

The story of Canadian health and medicine tells how people have preserved health and managed disease, pain, and suffering. The Museum of Health Care at Kingston strives to connect visitors with the experiences of people in past times and provide context and perspective on today's health issues. To help Canadians better understand this history, the Museum preserves and promotes the rich material legacy of our medical and health care past. 

Museum of the Order of St John

The Museum of the Order of St John tells a unique and fascinating story — the story of the Order of St John — from its origins in eleventh century Jerusalem, through to its role today with St John Ambulance and the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem.

University of Maryland School of Nursing Living History Museum

The University of Maryland School of Nursing’s (UMSON) Living History Museum is one of the nation’s only museums dedicated to educating the public about the rich history and heritage of the nursing profession. The Museum features hundreds of historic objects and photographs, as well as audio and video presentations. The Museum traces the evolution of UMSON’s mission in nursing education, research, and practice from its early years as a hospital training school to its emergence as a premier professional nursing school.
